Wow! You’ve made it this far, which means my long-winded emails haven’t totally turned you off! Thank you :)
A note from Destiny:
'Life is hard. Then you die.' I saw this t-shirt adorning a high school friend in the early 2000's. It resonated with me... What's the more significant point? Well, to find purpose, of course! (So much easier said than done.) Finding purpose is challenging in an "it bleeds, it leads" society. But there's a lot of love out there if you know where to look for it. This fall, I'm trying my hardest to seek out the positive and not fall victim to the chaos that attempts to usurp our reality. With so much vitriol and hostile rhetoric out there, I dream of creating a space where beauty prevails. These concerts are meant to be a safe space for you- a place where everyone can find common ground through the wholesome purity of music.
How? Music. That's my "how."
CONCERT 1
Halloween is a fun time of year when it comes to Classical Music, and that's precisely what this evening concert will be--It's called Beethoven and the Friendly Ghosts, and you'll (of course) hear Beethoven's Ghost Trio, Bolcom's Ghost Rag(time!), Danse Macabre and more. Plus, as you know, Prairie Classical's mission is to include youth in our performances alongside the pros--We'll be featuring two very talented string players in a string quartet with Yours Truly and Mike! ~ 7:30 PM (75 mins) | Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church | KCMO
Future…
Nov 20: Our kick-off and first Wellness Wednesday was heartwarming, and I'm committed to continuing this unique series. The audience participation and themed prompts make each concert a shared experience. Our first topic was Joy & Sorrow, as told by Kreisler's Three Old Viennese Dances. We followed that in October with by Fear Itself. --Our next Wellness Wednesday will focus on Gratitude! NOV 20 ~ NOON (30 mins) | Old Mission United Methodist Church | Fairway, KS
Dec 4: Festive Follies
Dec 18: Wellness Wednesday
Dec 22: Youth & Professional Side by Side
